The Future of UAS

The future of UAS is uncertain, but it is looking to be a bright one. Large companies such as Amazon are taking steps to use drones as part of their day to day operations. Amazon hopes to one day ship as many packages as possible by using UAS. Each day UAS technology moves closer to this goal. Recently, Australian company Flirtey in partnership with NASA and Virginia Tech did the first trial run of using UAS to ship items. It was only a one mile flight carrying just 10 pounds, but this flight serves as a proof of concept for the future of the UAS industry yet to come.
